N.A.M.U is submitted for Brayton’s furniture design competition. It represents the earth that the tree feeds from and lives in, as well as the trunk and branches, giving to those around it. Its bench is a peaceful place to sit, and its branches provide a shelving system for storing the necessities to give to those experiencing it. This piece recreates these feelings, while still providing a basic functionality that allows for a practical use in any given built environment. N.A.M.U works well within Brayton’s Natural Resources Environmental Policy. From the literal concepts of bringing nature into the built environment to its materials, construction and “well being of society” while also providing an aesthetic beauty.
